Slate Floor Tile
The density of all natural Slate floor tile, allows it to have superior durability, be super strong, have great resistance to chipping, cracking, scratching, and breaking. Slate does not need to be sealed on a regular maintenance schedule to protect it from stains. It’ll look fantastic for decades if it is cared for with soap and water regularly. Just like those timeless options of Marble and Quartzite, Slate is also one of those timeless tile choices that never become out dated, go out of style. Slate’s available in many combinations of different shapes, colors, and textures.

Tile Installation Chandler adds a sub-surface sealant to all Slate upon installation, and we use a final outer surface barrier that protects against potential stains. We highly recommend to periodically apply surface tile sealant if your slate is in higher traffic areas.
Grouting around tiles is the most likely place to find mildew and stains forming. Its always a good idea to do preventive maintenance and protect the grout lines. Grout lines that haven’t been well kept can be replaced without affecting the structural integrity of the tiling. Installing Slate is a time consuming process due to it’s weight. In a lot of cases, we’ll recommend against installing Slate on the 2nd floor or higher due to the added weight load it can put on a building. Due to the nature of Slate, it becomes challenging to plan a particular color scheme based on sample pieces because its difficult to match the sample with current available stock. We recommend coming with us to do the tile shopping, so you can pick the best fit for your home or office.
