An Amazing Time at Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass – Chandler, AZ
A beautiful reminiscence of the Western culture of 1800s at AZ: Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass 5700 W North Loop Rd. Chandler, AZ 85226
I visited Arizona to meet my brother during my semester vacation. Definitely one of the most interesting places I have been to. It was a lazy Sunday morning in the midst of my stay, and I just wanted to explore the beautiful city of Chandler instead of sitting at home. My brother suggested visiting the Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass, which is one of Arizona’s largest western-themed attractions. Believe me; I had no idea about the beautiful experience I was about to witness.
Wild Horse Pass is Arizona’s premium tourist destinations with the pristine Sonoran desert and variety of attractions like Rawhide Western Town and Steakhouse, Motorsports Park, Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino, Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort, Aji Spa and so on.
The Western town:
Rawhide is a Western themed park spanning over 18 unique venues within the property and is open only on scheduled dates for both public and private events. Rawhide is situated in the center of Wild Horse Pass in the Chandler area of Arizona spanning over 160 acres of Sonoran desert. Rawhide takes you back to the 18th-century era, preferably the Western town as it was in the 1880s. I was spellbound by what I saw when I first entered Rawhide. With Main Street, gunfights, mechanical bull, train rides, burro rides, shooting gallery and more, it was like jumping into the sets of a typical Western genre cowboy movie. With western gunfights on one side and live country music being played on the other side, it is a treat to the eyes and ears. I just wished I stayed at the Rawhide Western Town forever. The most amazing part is that there is no admission charge for entering Rawhide.
The traditional shows:
I was lucky o witness some of the best gunfights and stunt shows by The Arizona Roughriders. Just like the way the cowboys start firing at each other in old American western movies, there is a replica of the gunfights in Rawhide (Just that the guns aren’t real). Besides the gunfights, the stunt shows were amazing.
The entertainment part:
The Rawhide Western town was so inviting, and I made sure I engaged in some of the classic Western things like riding on a mechanical bull, going gold panning, playing the games cowboys play, Watching a real blacksmith, taking a train ride and took part in adventure sports like rock climbing. The Western town also offers us western garbs and clicks westernized classic family photographs.
The shopping spree:
The shopaholic in me made me visit each and every store in Rawhide. I never felt like going back home. The wide range of classic styled hats, toys, gifts and clothing allured me to the extent of making me forget the passage of time.
The exquisite classic dinner:
I had one of the best dinners in my lifetime at the Rawhide Steakhouse wherein light country music was played in the background, and traditional relishing food was served for us in quantities like how a real cowboy eats.
